Orthodontist San Francisco
Dr. Riaño and his wife, Anne, had a vision to build a state of the art practice that would be green, modern and local. Together with their architect, Eduardo Cáceres, they designed an office based on sustainable architecture and Leed Principles. This not only helps our planet, but also creates efficiency and minimizes operational costs, which is a big plus for our patients. Our office continually strives to reduce our environment footprint.
Paperless Office - We send electronic statements, use digital patient charts and x-rays and take payments online. This not only reduces waste but streamlines our administrative processes.
Sustainable Architecture - High Efficiency Fluorescent Lighting, Energy Star® Appliances, Highly Efficiency Heating and Cooling Systems, low VOC paint, Recycled Particle Board, Recyclable Water Systems.
Features - The floors are a highly renewable Grass Flooring (Bamboo), the brushing stations have Glass Tile, whose content is 97% recycled from glass bottles, the consult room is enclosed by Leed Certified resin panels produced by Lumicor® of grass cultivated from sustainable organic crops.
Instead of paper towel we use a Hygenic Airblade Hand Dryer in our restroom.
The Orthodontic Chairs were made locally by Dexta Corp. in Napa Valley. Not only do we support Bay Area Merchants, but we spare the environment of all of the unnecessary pollution in bringing the chairs across the Pacific.
We plan to install a washer and dryer so that we can sterilize our instruments using reusable cloth instead of paper.
- Digital Panoramic and Cephalometric X-Ray Machine
(emits less radiation than 9 minutes in the sun & does not use harmful chemicals into the environment in the developing process)
- Apple Computers and software
- Televox® – Text and Email confirmation of appointments
Hayes Valley is central to the city and was chosen for patient convenience and to encourage the use of pubic transportation, located near both Bart (Civic Center) and Muni (Van Ness)
Our office is walking distance to many schools and institutions. Since a typical Orthodontic Treatment is 24 appointments, we make it a little easier since it is a few short blocks from:
- Academy of the Sacred Heart
- City Hall
- French American / Chinese American International Schools
- Friends School
- San Francisco Ballet
- San Francisco Conservatory of Music
Finally, we celebrate local talent…
The cement leaf in-Lay in our waiting room was made by Mary Martha Collins, an artist from Half Moon Bay. She used Eucalyptus and Curuba leaves, both which are of special significance since they are native to Dr. Riaño’s home country Colombia.Schedule a Free Consultation
